Psychotherapy Services

My Therapy Approach

Throughout my career a guiding belief has been the importance of relationships and connection. I hope to create a space of warmth and safety, where we can find joy and laugh together, while exploring some of the more difficult parts of life and parenthood.

Perinatal and Parenting

The pregnancy and postpartum period can bring a variety of joys and challenges, like excitement about new milestones or worries about being a good enough parent. This period may bring up new or old feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and loss.   I'm passionate about supporting parents throughout this transition by exploring things like past experiences of being parented ourselves, what values feel important to you as a parent, what experiences you want to protect your child from, and how you hope your child will experience the world around them as they grow.

In my work with parents I utilize elements from several evidenced based practices including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Parent- Infant Psychotherapy.

Early Childhood

Young children often don't have the words to share with the adults around them how they are feeling and what they have experienced, instead they show us these feelings through their behavior and play. These behaviors can be confusing and leave you unsure how to respond as a parent, or may even lead to responding in ways that don't line up with how you want to parent. Together we can work to better understand your child, build more coping skills, and increase the joy in your relationship with your child.

Working with young children uses a specialized set of skills to understand the language of play and how children communicate. When working with young children I utilize elements of Child Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, and Parent Child-Interaction Therapy.
